Mark Tarrant

Sensei Mark Tarrant, 8th Dan, is the Chief Instructor of the Mountain States Region in the International Shotokan Karate Federation. He was a longstanding member of the Mountain States competition team, earning two individual national championships, and was a member of seven national championship teams. As a member of the ISKF U.S. team, he competed internationally for 10 years and earned medals in both individual and team events.

Mr. Tarrant is a member of the ISKF Technical Committee and a graduate of the ISKF Instructor Training Program. He is a protégé of the late Master Yutaka Yaguchi, one of the elite class of first-generation JKA instructors sent worldwide to teach real Shotokan Karate. In 2018, Master Yaguchi personally appointed Mr. Tarrant to be his successor as the Mountain States Chief Instructor.

Still actively training, Sensei Tarrant is the instructor at the ISKF Arvada dojo, headquarters of the ISKF Mountain States Region. In addition to his regular teaching schedule, he teaches special classes, camps, and seminars.
